CYFD’s Behavioral Health Services Lead for Family Engagement will discuss Family Engagement trainings and Family Peer Support. Sheri Luevano will will present the State’s Family Peer Support Worker Program and describe CYFD’s role in helping to develop and implement Family Peer support Statewide. She will also discuss what Family Peer Support entails, and who qualifies to be a family peer support worker. She will also provide information on how to apply to become a family peer support worker.

Sherie Luevano is the Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD) Behavioral Health Family Engagement Lead and is the provider liaison for Family Peer Support. Sherie has been with CYFD since 2016. She has been a Placement Worker, Investigation Worker, and a Domestic Violence Program Manager.
Brooke Stanley Tou, MPH, LMSW is the Director of the Southwest Regional Training Center at New Mexico State University which is housed in the Extension Family & Consumer Sciences Department. The Center provides workforce development training and program implementation support to CYFD- Behavioral Health Services and their affiliated community providers throughout New Mexico. Programs are primarily focused on children’s behavioral health including High Fidelity Wraparound, Family Peer Support, Youth Peer Support, Youth Support Services and a number of other evidence-based and promising practices.
