For Individuals Living with a Mental Illness
This is NAMI-Santa Fe’s most important priority: helping those that experience a mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and others. The following are a couple of our offerings for those living with a mental health condition:
Connection Recovery Support Group
We offer a free online weekly support group (Mondays at 3:30 p.m.) called “Connection Recovery”. Even if you have not been clinically diagnosed with a mental illness but feel you are struggling with a mental health condition that’s been going on for a while, you are welcome to attend this support group. Group meetings maintain strict confidentiality with respect to who attends them and what is shared at meetings. Meetings are led by peers – i.e. by a NAMI-trained person who is or has experienced a mental illness themselves.
Peer to Peer Education Course
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.
Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussions and informative videos. However, as with all NAMI programs, it does not include recommendations for treatment approaches.
