NAMIWalks 2020 Announcement

Dear Community,

We invite you to join us for our annual NAMIWalks event on Saturday, May 2nd, at the Albuquerque International Balloon Museum. This year, we are celebrating 18 years of NAMIWalks: the nation’s single largest fundraiser for mental health awareness that takes place in over 80 communities.

NAMIWalks is a fun, family- and dog-friendly event that includes walking a route distance 5 kilometers, fun activities, and free food—and there is no cost to register! Your involvement would help highlight the importance of recognizing mental health on both a community and national level. You can help make a difference via NAMIWalks by becoming a sponsor, committee member, team captain, team member, individual walker, virtual walker, or walk day volunteer. NAMI Santa Fe already has organized a team, The Santa Fe Stompers, should you wish to join or donate. You can sign up and support us here: https://www.namiwalks.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=35300. All walkers who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative NAMIWalks t-shirt. Additionally, all participants will be recognized with special awards based on the amount that they raise for the Walk.

For this upcoming event, Santa Fe NAMI is hoping to raise $3,000 to promote awareness of mental health and reduce stigma by sharing stories and walking together and letting people know they are not alone. All proceeds from this event will be used to fund NAMI’s local programs in New Mexico, which include education, support, public awareness of, and the support of research involving mental illness.

NAMI New Mexico is a registered 501(c)3 organization and your support is fully tax deductible. We hope you will commit to joining and supporting the largest grassroots mental health organization to help make this event truly special for our community. We look forward to your help in supporting individuals and families with mental illness, bringing the community together, and fostering a necessary and meaningful change within our society.
